Since having my daughter, I’ve really started to think about the impact we have on the planet, and how I can make changes to my lifestyle that help me to live more sustainably. I have tried to make a positive change internally to my household – it’s so important that we all do our bit, no matter how big or small.

With India and her future to think about, the threat of climate change feels more urgent than ever, and I certainly worry about how the planet will be affected within India and her children’s lifetimes. As parents, we have a responsibility to educate our children on sustainability, so that they grow up knowing how they can be less wasteful. The only way India will learn is by seeing the changes that I try to make in our house.

With all of this in mind, I’ve definitely become much more aware of how much we waste. As a household it’s easy to produce a lot of waste, especially single use plastics, and particularly with children, as things like their toys tend to use so much packaging – that’s why I’ve made the move towards products that use recyclable packaging, or steer clear of single use plastics.
